US OPEN: Ryan Harrison Sends Milos Raonic Packing
Ryan Harrison, a 24-year-old American played the match of his life on Wednesday at the US Open stunning No. 5-seeded Milos Raonic 6-7 (4), 7-5, 7-5, 6-1 in the biggest upset of the tournament so far. A loud capacity crowd of 8,200 at the tournament’s new Grandstand stadium was thrilled with the result.
Milos Raonic was among the favourites for the title after reaching the semi-finals at the Australian Open and the final at Wimbledon, losing to Andy Murray on both occasions.
However, the 25-year-old struggled to carry his bags by the time he left the court following defeat by Harrison.
The 120th-ranked Harrison will now go on to face Marcos Baghdatis for a place in the last 16.
