Premier League: Crystal Palace 1-0 Burnley
Bakary Sako scored the only goal as Crystal Palace continued their revival under Roy Hodgson with victory over Burnley at Selhurst Park.
Roy Hodgson’s side took a 21st-minute lead against the below-par Clarets when Sako picked up Christian Benteke’s pass and fired an angled shot through the legs of James Tarkowski and past goalkeeper Nick Pope.
Palace almost doubled their advantage from the restart when Ben Mee cleared from under his own crossbar, with James McArthur lurking.
The visitors introduced new loan signing Georges-Kevin Nkoudou in search of an equaliser, but Palace held on to secure a sixth Premier League win under Hodgson and move away from the relegation zone.
Palace’s latest win lifts them to 12th in the Premier League standings, while Burnley remain seventh.
