Police Commence Investigation On Wike, Amaechi Bloody Clash
Police Chief Ibrahim Idris has ordered a probe into the Saturday clash between security detail of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and those of Minister of Transportation Chibuile Amaechi in Port Harcourt.
The clash had seen a security detail of Wike pointing a gun at Amaechi, with some of the security men, including a senior police officer, injured.
Although nobody died during the clash, many were injured and the rifle of a policeman was snatched at the Trans-Amadi Layout.
Both Wike and Amaechi, who are former allies, claim thay escaped assassination.
The spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed that a probe had been launched into the incident and the involvement of policemen.
Omoni, a Deputy superintendent of Police, however, did not give further details.
