PDP Satisfied With Ex-Beauty Queen Ikpeazu, Oduah, Ubah, And Three More For Anambra Governorship Primaries
The Peoples Democratic Party Anambra Gubernatorial Election Screening Committee on, Friday, has approved six aspirants ahead of the party primary.
The governorship election will hold on November 18.
The chairman of the Screening Committee, Mr. Adamu Waziri, stated this while he was the clearance certificates to the screened aspirants at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Waziri however, said that seven aspirants submitted their nomination forms and appeared before the committee, but only six were cleared.
The Aspirant cleared includes, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, Sen. Stella Oduah, former Minister of Aviation, Dr. Alex Obiogolu, Mr. John Emeka, as well as Lynda Ikpeazu, were fully cleared to participate in the party primary.
He added that the committee gave Mr. Oseloka Obaze, former Secretary of Anambra State, a conditional clearance, if he meets the party’s demand.
The chairman, however,stated the reason why Mr. Akolisa Ufodike was not cleared is because of his for dual citizenship.
Waziri said the committee was fair and firm in the conduct of the screening, in line with relevant provisions of the law.
He said “the decision of the committee could be appealed.
“Anybody who is not satisfied with the decision of the committee should appeal to the National Working Committee or the Caretaker Committee for reconsideration.’’
Waziri said the decision of the national working committee or the caretaker committee would “override or confirm whatever we have done.”
