PDP Mega Rally in Bayelsa: Goodluck Jonathan, Governor Wike Absent
Former President Goodluck Jonathan and the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, were conspicuously absent at the grand finale of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign in Bayelsa State on Wednesday.
The mega rally, which was held on Wednesday at the Oxbow Lake Pavalion in Bayelsa kickstarted the party’s campaign ahead of the November kickstand 16 governorship election in the state.
The rally was, however, led the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus.
The National Chairman of the PDP, Mr Uche Secondus warned security agencies against being used to rig election for the opposition.
The Governors of Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwa; Bauchi, Bala Mohammed, who is the Chairman of the PDP Campaign Council; Imo, Emeka Ihediogha and Delta states, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, graced the occasion.
Speaking for PDP governors, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, said that Bayelsa belongs to the PDP and boasted that no other political party can defeat them.
He said that Governor Seriake Dickson had done very well for Bayelsa people, noting that no other political party could win any election in the state.
In his speech, Governor Dickson said the PDP has been the only platform that had given a face and voice to Nigerians.
“PDP is the only Ijaw man party that all can feel.
“Senator Douye Diri is the only one that can consolidate on the restoration government.
“I want to appeal to our people to vote massively for the PDP as we do not know any other party,” he said.
