Lagos State Government Stops Burial of Slain Lasu Student
The planned burial of the Lagos State University (LASU) student, Favour Daley-Oladele, murdered by her boyfriend for money-making rituals, did not hold yesterday due to the sate government’s investigation into the matter.
The late Daley-Oladele’s uncle, Toyeme Solomon, told friends and sympathisers, who thronged the Atan Cemetery on University Road, Akoka, Lagos, that the funeral had been put on hold.
Speaking at the Atan Cemetery, Favour’s uncle, said the family had mobilised to the ministry of health to retrieve her corpse for the burial when they were instructed to suspend the arrangement for the benefit of the investigation.
Toyeme said, “An order from the Lagos State Ministry of Health instructed us not to go ahead with Favour’s burial today. We were told that some procedures need to be taken and that we need to stop the burial so that we won’t lose the case.
“The family has made the —arrangement and were at the Lagos State Ministry of health to retrieve her corpse for burial when we received the call.”
