Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo Pleads Guilty Over Tax Evasion
Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has cut a deal with a court in Madrid over tax evasion charges, accepting an €18.8m (£16.6m) fine.
The Portuguese was in the Spanish capital on Tuesday to appear before a judge after being accused of defrauding authorities out of income generated through image rights.

His court appearance lasted about 15 minutes as he only needed to sign off on the previously settled agreement.
The 33-year-old opted to appear in court in person after declining the option to address a judge by video link.
He departed Madrid last summer after nine seasons at the club to join Juventus in a €100m transfer.
