John Obi Mikel On Target For Tianjin Teda In 2-1 Win Over Guangzhou R&F (Video)
Former Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel, has scored his first goal of the season for Tianjin Teda.
The former Chelsea man scrambled home the ball in the 27th minute after Ghanaian’s Frank Acheampong’s shot fell into his back to the path.
Guangzhou’s Chen Zhizhao broke the deadlock eight minutes into the encounter at the Teda Stadium but the former Chelsea player restored parity for the hosts in the 27th minute.
In the 29th minute, Jiakang Hui scored what proved to be the winner as there were no more goals in the match as Tianjin claimed all three points.
The 30-year-old who has provided two assists and a goal in six appearances this term will be aiming to maintain his form to help lift Uli Stielike’s side, currently placed eighth in the league table with eight points from six games.
The victory has put Teda eighth position in the provisional standings with eight points.
