How to Hydrate Your Face Naturally at Home(For Dry Skin)

Dry skin is not only uncomfortable and unsightly, but also leads to wrinkles and premature aging. Chemicals, wind and harsh soaps strip your skin of its natural oils and leave it feeling irritated.

1. Drink plenty of water

You’ve probably heard this one before, but it still has to get a mention on our list. The easiest way to hydrate your skin is to keep your body hydrated from the inside. It’s also good for your heart and your kidneys, so make sure you are getting your two litres of water a day.

2. Wonderful Honey

One of the best skin care products that Mother Nature gave us is the raw, organic honey. It’s naturally hydrating and  also has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that will soothe irritation and fight infection. Apply honey to any particular bad areas of dry skin and leave it on for about five minutes, before washing off again with lukewarm water. Repeat this daily, for a few days, and you will soon see the difference in your skin.

3. Eat foods rich in amino acids:

Amino acids helps build and maintain collagen and elastin in the skin. These helps with water to keep your skin hydrated. Eat foods rich in amino acids, like walnuts, olive oil, salmon and flax-seed oil, between three and five times per week.

4. Make and use a homemade moisturizer:

Mix the juice of 1 fresh lime with 1/4-cup boiled whole milk and 2 tbsp of extra-virgin olive oil. Keep this moisturizer refrigerated and apply it to your skin when needed (morning and night is often recommended). Homemade moisturizer will stay fresh for at least three days.

5. Puree an avocado and apply the pulp to your face:

Keep the pulp on your face for five minutes and then rinse. The oil in the avocado softens skin and contains vitamin E, which helps heal dry skin.


Always treat your skin kindly. Avoid harsh rubbing and scrubbing, it will help you delay aging and stay younger for longer. Also, make sure you are not allergic to natural ingredients of face masks and treatments, test them on your wrist before using on your face.
