FIFA Ranking: Brazil Moves To Top, Nigeria 6th In Africa

Nigeria are the 38th best team in the world and sixth in Africa, according to the latest FIFA ranking for the month of August released on Thursday.

Brazil have returned to the top of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking after a one-month hiatus, replacing reigning FIFA World Cup champions Germany.

Lionel Messi’s Argentina are in third and modest Switzerland, with a 100 per cent record in World Cup qualifiers, are fourth, which is higher than they have been since 1994.

Lewandoski’s Poland (5th, up 1) are at an all-time high. Neither have dropped in the standings for 11 months.

A special mention also goes to Namibia (136th, up 20), who were the month’s biggest climbers.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 14 September 2017.
