Europa League Draw: Manchester United To Face Rostov In Last 16 Of The Europa League
Manchester United have been drawn against Russian side Rostov in the last 16 of the Europa League.
United, considered the favourites by many bookmakers, are the only British side left in Europe’s secondary club competition.
Jose Mourinho’s men reached the knockout stage with a 4-0 aggregate victory over Saint-Etienne, having finished runners up in their group.
Jose Mourinho’s men will go to Russia for the first leg on March 9, then host Rostov in the second leg at Old Trafford on 16 March.
“It is a bad draw in every aspect,” said Mourinho. “It is far and difficult -and comes in a bad period.”
Elsewhere, Serie A outfit Roma have been drawn against Ligue 1 side Lyon, while there is an all-Bundesliga clash as Schalke take on Borussia Monchengladbach.
Celta Vigo, the only Spanish side left in the competition, host Russian side Krasnodar.
Dutch giants Ajax will have to make a short trip north to Denmark after being drawn against Kobenhavn, while Greece and Turkey meet when Olympiacos take on Besiktas.
