England’s relentless march towards Euro 2020 continued with a thrilling victory over Kosovo, who scored after just 34 seconds.

Kosovo led after 34 seconds of the Euro 2020 qualifier at St Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday, Valon Berisha giving the Three Lions a scare, but they roared back to lead 5-1 at half-time thanks to Sterling’s inspirational display.

A horrible Michael Keane giveaway gifted Kosovo their opener inside of a minute as Fidan Aliti set up Valon Berisha, who fired past Jordan Pickford in a shocking start for the hosts.

Keane swiftly made amends to set up Sterling to head home after a corner then Manchester City’s unstoppable attacker set up captain Harry Kane for his 26th goal in 41 England appearances.

Sancho – starting in place of Marcus Rashford – exploded into the game just before the break forcing Mergim Vojvoda into an own goal and then helping himself to his first two international goals after some phenomenal play from Sterling on the counter-attack.

England lost their focus after the interval with Berisha netting again and Vedat Muriqi converting a penalty – a feat Kane failed to match soon after – to make the final scoreline closer than Sterling’s superb showing deserved.

Despite creating ample opportunities on the break, England failed to add to their total with Kane missing from the penalty spot (65).

The result puts England firmly in control of Group A on 12 points, with the Three Lions next in action against Czech Republic on Oct. 11.
