More facts have emerged on the visit by senators led by Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, to the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Friday.

Bola Tinubu, All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, has charged federal lawmakers to come up with legislation that would help in promoting the country’s diversity.

Tinubu said this in a statement during the visit by the Deputy Senate President at his residence in Lagos on Saturday.

A member of the APC Caucus in the Senate told newsmen on Saturday that the visit by the senators to Tinubu was not political.

The lawmaker said, “The committee was in Lagos as part of its activities on the review of the Constitution. It has 36 members across political parties and with each state represented. Although there are two instances where myself and a senator from Lagos facilitated a meeting between Tinubu and Ekweremadu, this particular meeting is in recognition of Asiwaju as an elder statesman.

“They are in Lagos and they felt that either officially or unofficially, Asiwaju is synonymous with Lagos. It is like visiting the landlord.”
