Reports making the rounds, is that DKM label boss- the kokomaster, D’banj has parted ways with GLO and has been welcome in the MTN camp with a robust handshake in a new special deal.
According to TheNetng,’s sources, the deal happened a few weeks ago and Dbanj is very happy about it.
In 2010, Michael Adenuga’s Globacom had refused to extend Dbanj’s N70M two-year contract, settling instead for the Okoye brothers- Psquare for a four year deal worth over N240m. Following this, the singer failed to renew his deal with with the telecommunication company, all of these happened after the Emergency artiste allegedly got on the company’s wrong side and every effort channeled towards reconciliation proved abortive.
However, in 2013, a chance meeting with Mike Adenuga led to a new endorsement deal, one that topped the list of signings and endorsements in that year; That arrangement has now expired and it is not certain if the telec wished for a renewal or if the parting was on a mutual ground.
Thenetng’s sources added that: ‘D’banj is a content evangelist. Ideally he should have been with MTN in the first place. Glo really doesn’t do much with music content so I assume D’banj has been counting his losses seeing he would have earned huge cheques from MTN’s several VAS products’, a telecoms insider told us.
There has been no official announcement from MTN, D’banj or Globacom as at the time of this report..
our fingers are however crossed and our ears and eyes are at alert.
