As part of the urgent measures to contain and control the sporadic and continuous spread of the Corona Virus, the Lagos state Government has intervened by commissioning more isolation centers in some of its General Hospitals.

‘The relocation is part of the Lagos State government’s motive to create additional isolation centres in some general hospitals across the state,’ a senior health care worker in the General hospital revealed.

Following the conversion of the Onikan Stadium into an isolation center, the Lagos state government has decided to renovate one of its abandoned facilities (N5billion ultra-modern cardiac and Renal Centre ) to help prevent persons infected with Coronavirus from infecting others.

The governor commissioned the 118-bed Isolation and Treatment Centre at Gbagada General Hospital on Friday, May 1, 2020.

He said the facility was revamped over the past two months to accommodate patients who have been infected by the coronavirus disease.

“This facility, I must say, is first class. It has all the trappings of clinical care,” the governor said

The N5billion ultra-modern cardiac and Renal Centre which was inaugurated by the former Lagos state Governor , (SAN) Babatunde Raji Fashola in 2015, has now been converted into a spacious, conducive and fully equipped isolation center
