Brighton 0-2 Man City: Away Side Leave It To Breal Albion’s Resistance
Brighton’s first Premier League game ended in defeat as two late Man City goals earned the visitors a 2-0 win at the Amex on Saturday evening.
The Seagulls, back in the top flight after a 34-year absence, had showed impressive organisation and resolve to keep City at bay until David Silva played in Sergio Aguero to fire home after 70 minutes.
Lewis Dunk’s own goal five minutes later sealed victory for Pep Guardiola’s side, who also had a Gabriel Jesus goal ruled out for handball.
This was was more of a test of whether Guardiola’s rebooted team could break down a massed defence. They did not do it enough in his first season at City but at the Amex Stadium, eventually, they found a way through.
Brighton will search for their maiden Premier League win when they travel to Leicester City next weekend, while Manchester City host Everton onMonday Night Football.
