BREAKING: Nigeria Records 265 New Cases Of COVID-19, Total Now 7,526
Nigeria has recorded 265 new cases of the novel coronavirus, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said late Saturday.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this known on its official Twitter page.
NCDC reported that 133 of the new cases were found in Lagos, 34 in Oyo, 28 in Edo, 22 in the FCT, six in Plateau, five in Kaduna, three each in Borno and Niger, and two each in Kwara, Bauchi, Anambra, and Enugu.
NCDC said, “On the 23rd of May 2020, 265 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.
“No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
“Till date, 7,526 cases have been confirmed, 2,174 cases have been discharged and 221 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“The 265 new cases are reported from 13 states- Lagos(133), Oyo(34), Edo(28), Ogun(23), FCT(22), Plateau(6), Kaduna (5), Borno(3), Niger(3), Kwara(2), Bauchi(2), Anambra(2), Enugu(2).”
Since the outbreak first emerged in China in December, 5,260,970 cases have been recorded across 196 countries and territories, with 339,758 deaths attributed to the virus.
