The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the results of 1,792,719 candidates who sat for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The results of the April 11 and 17 university admissions tests had long been expected, but the board said they were delayed by investigations into suspected cheating.
The Registrar of the board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, made the announcement in Abuja on Saturday, told journalists that about 15,145 results were withheld for further clarification, While 34,120 candidates had their results withheld for examination malpractice.
“Today, we are releasing the results of 1,792,719 candidates. Some 34,120 results are being withheld including the results of 15,145 candidates being further clarified as identical twins and siblings,” he said.
He advised candidates to use the phone numbers they used to register to text RESULT to 55019. He insisted that there was no need to approach any Computer Based Test (CBT), or cyber café to check the result.
He added: “Those who were absent got their registration cancelled or had their results withhold would be duly informed.”
