AGAIN!! Another Tanker Carrying Fuel Crashes in Anambra State
Anambra State on Tuesday witness another crash of another petrol tanker in the state.
The incident, which happened along the Enugu/Onitsha Expressway, at Abba junction in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state, is coming four days after government banned movement of articulated vehicles in the state.
According to THE NATION, the incident occurred at about 8:30am on Tuesday when the tanker reportedly fell, after the driver lost control of the vehicle following a brake failure.
A witness, named Abuchi, stated that the petrol tanker spilled its contents on the road, but added that no fire broke out.
The police personnel in the state took charged of things restricting movement, while men of the state fire service were on standby in case of any incident of fire.
Anambra State Firefighters led by Martin Agbili confirmed the incident.
Agbili said he and his men arrived at the scene early to avert any calamity.
He said men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were also on ground to tow the tanker out of the area.
He warned motorists to use alternative routes for the time being.
