Former Chairman of Agege Local Government Area in Lagos, Alh. Jubreel Ayodeji Abdul-Kareem, has been arrested over the killing of Late Nurudeen Olonose, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday after the conclusion of the party’s congress in the area.
Late Olanose, who was not one of the delegates for the congress was at the front of Central Primary School, Oniwaya, the venue of the congress to catch a glimpse of the event when his death occurred after violence broke out.
The leadership of Agege and Orile-Agege including the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, alsongside two other lawmakers in the areas, Hon. Oluyinka Ogundimu and Hon. Taofik Abiodun Adaranijo, representing Agege Federal Constituency and Dr. Samuel Adejare, Commissioner for Waterfront, on Sunday during a press conference blamed a two-time chairman of the council Alh. Abdukareem who they claim could go to any length to realize his alleged ambition to become a lawmaker in the State Assembly come 2019 for the crises. They call on the police to investigate him for Late Olonose’s murder.

However, after the dust of the violence settled on the very day the congress took place, twelve persons including Alh. Abdulkareem’s driver, Mr. Bosun Adigun were arrested and since being detained at State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID Panti, over the killing of Late Olonose.
On Monday at about 3.30pm, the ex-LG boss was picked up at his residence at Kososko Street in Agege and as at the time of this report was in detention at Panti where is facing interrogation.
