A few years back, Reekado Banks and Lil Kesh were nominated in the Highly prized Next Rated Category of the prestigious HEADIES awards alongside Korede Bello, Cynthia Morgan and Kiss Daniel.
Reekado however won this category leading to a tussle as many thought former YBNL act Lil Kesh was more deserving of the award, the tussle saw Olamide and Don Jazzy throw shades at each other on stage and even via social media.
The two however have continued to soar in their career and another thing that seems to have continued is the perceived “Beef” between them.
During a Chat with HIP TV in 2016, Reekado had said:
“We weren’t the closest of friends like close, close, close. It wasn’t like we talked everyday but we talked once in a while. He called me once in a while. I called him once in a while. And same as now, it still happens that way. There’s nothing really that has changed”.
Fast forward to 2017 in what seemed like a re-visitation, a video of Mavin act, Reekado Banks suggestively publicly declaring that he has always been better than Lil Kesh went Viral.
The said video had Reekado Banks addressing a crowd of fans at his “Thank You” concert in Ibadan about the next rated brouhaha that surfaced at the Headies Award some years back, the singer said categorically that he is better than Lilkesh.
“The person wey you say better pass me, I Better Pass Him Papa”
In a similar development, while speaking with Saturday Beats, Lilkesh admitted to seeing the video rant of his colleague online but just did not have any feelings for what the Mavin singer said.
“I saw the video online where Reekado Banks said that he was better than me, but I have nothing to say about that. I don’t care what anybody says, and I don’t have any feelings regarding what he said because I am just in my own world”.
