140 Discharged as COVID-19 Cases Reaches 5,445 With 171 Death
Confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nigeria have risen to 5,445 following the announcement of 288 more cases on Friday, May 15, 2020.
In a tweet via its official handle late Friday, the NCDC said 179 new cases had been discovered in Lagos, the country’s hotspot. The total number of confirmed cases in the state has now risen to 2,278.
In Kaduna, 20 new cases were recorded, 15 each in both Katsina and Jigawa, 13 in Borno, 11 in Ogun, eight in Kano, seven in the FCT, four each in Niger and Ekiti, three each in Oyo, Delta and Bauchi, two in Kwara and one in Edo.
The agency also announced the release of 140 patients, who have fully recovered from the virus. With this development, Nigeria now has a total of 1,320 recovery cases while the death toll is now 171.
